After long negotiations in the matter, the organisers of the European Masters Games decided to follow Sports Director Marco Sietas' suggestion and to adopt the WDSF Senior I - IV age group classifications for all competitions held as part of the games.
The DanceSport events of the European Masters Games 2015 are scheduled from 2 through 4 October in Nice, FRA. They comprise two World Championships, five World Cups and seven Masters Games competitions for age groups Senior I - IV. Read up on it here!
Below are the definitions for the four WDSF Senior age groups.
- SEN I | One partner must have reached his or her 35th birthday or more in the calendar year (1980 or before - Senior Ib). The other partner must have reached his or her 30th birthday in the calendar year (1985 or before - Senior Ia
- SEN II | One partner must have reached his or her 45th birthday or more in the calendar year (1970 or before - Senior IIb). The other partner must have reached his or her 40th birthday in the calendar year (1975 or before - Senior IIa)
- SEN III |One partner must have reached his or her 55th birthday or more in the calendar year (1960 or before - Senior IIIb). The other partner must have reached his or her 50th birthday in the calendar year (1965 or before - Senior IIIa)
- SEN IV | One partner must have reached his or her 65th birthday or more in the calendar year (1950 or before - Senior IVb). The other partner must have reached his or her 60th birthday in the calendar year (1955 or before - Senior IVa)
