Overall, 110 athletes representing 18 National Olympic Committees danced in eleven medal events at the 2017 Ashgabat Indoor and Martial Art Games (AIMAG). One third of all participants left Turkmenistan with a medal. Ten out of the 18 countries made it onto the medal table. That's a high percentage in both cases. Maybe too high!
Specialisation in a single dance is a purely Asian thing. And even there single-dance competitions are the exception. With a view to the future, DanceSport should be presented like it is in The World Games. Across contrasting disciplines: Breaking, Rock 'n' Roll and whatever in addition to Latin and Standard!
