The Opening Ceremony was ahighly visual smorgasbord put together by artistic director Krzysztof Materna. Colours, music and dance were the key ingredients. The full spectrum of all three was used to drive the message home.
The solemn moments were provided when the Mayor of Wroclaw, Rafał Dutkiewicz, IWGA President José Perurena and IOC President Dr Thomas Bach took centre stage to address the capacity crowd of 40,000 at Wroclaw Stadium.
